Our research methodology
Mining Stock Analyst v8.4 — NAV Valuation Insight Protocol
One ten-section analytical process
The report identifies the business, commodities, project stage, management, operations and capital position before integrating valuation and NAV in Section 8. Section 9 covers market sentiment and technical trends; Section 10 compares peers and benchmarks. Every section includes metric bullets and interpretive commentary. Reports use no tables.
Market calibration and transparent assumptions
Dated market references distinguish spot, futures, benchmarks, realised prices and analyst or study assumptions. Specialist research and compatible observations can support provisional prices for opaque products such as rare earths. Products, currencies, units, purity, location and observation dates remain explicit. Uncertainty is explained; facts and prices are never invented.
Integrated NAV and valuation
Project values are adjusted for ownership and stated project risk, then consolidated with cash, debt and corporate obligations. Share counts support NAV per share. Stage-appropriate valuation multiples and peer comparisons provide context. Estimates retain their assumptions, source dates and limitations; a valuation is not a promised return.
Current fair value and weighted quality
Current fair value per share comes from current risk-adjusted corporate NAV divided by the stated share count. It is distinct from a conditional future scenario. Five required factors assess management and alignment, exploration and resource growth, technical performance, financial strength, and jurisdiction. Their disclosed weights vary with the company’s exploration, development or production stage. Expand each factor for its evidence, assumptions and confidence; the score does not apply another discount to NAV.
Management and key investors
Expandable profiles explain experience, governance, execution and shareholder alignment. Holdings retain their actual disclosure dates and scope; an institutional manager is not treated as an individual investor. Missing or unconfirmed ownership is explained.
Archive and benchmark comparisons
Original dated research provides the baseline for measurable changes. Green indicates improvement, amber stability or uncertainty, and red deterioration. Relevant peers and GDXJ comparisons retain their source and methodological context. Different historical score weights are not treated as directly comparable.
Using the research
Review the cited evidence and assumptions. Automated analysis can contain errors. Historical reports retain their original methodology; new reports and updates follow this protocol. Research is informational and does not constitute personal investment advice.
